Mathmatical Proof of 2=1

Maths is very Unique and Unpredictable subject, as we can prove many things using maths statements, theorems, etc.

As We all know 1 always is equal to 1, but Now Maths prove it 2=1, 

How?

                    a = b               definition

                   a² = ab             multiply both sides by a

            a² - b² = ab - b²       subtract b²

 (a - b) (a + b) = b(a - b)      factor

              a + b = b               cancel like factors^* 

                  2b = 1b              since a = b

                    2 = 1               divide by b
